Position Description

At Heart of the Canyons Church, our purpose is to live to know and love Jesus and love and serve others. Our vision is to engage and equip every person to follow Jesus with the mission to Go&GROW.

The Youth@Heart Student Lead will be responsible for the development and deployment of Student ministry for the Canyon Country Campus, which includes, but is not limited to:, team-building, team development and management, Student ministry/missions flow and feel, and team and systems management. The Student Lead is responsible for everything with regards to the development, implementation, growth and management of Canyon Country Campus Student Ministries.

Your Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Accomplish mission through teamwork
  • Develop and deploy a Purpose Driven Student ministry
  • Set and meet specific Youth Lead goals with the campus pastor/leader
  • Execute the Heart vision, mission and strategies for youth ministry through excellent service programming alongside the campus pastor and Family Ministries Director.
  • Lead excellent service programming for middle & high school services
  • Invest in middle and High school students leaders and partner with parents to equip and engage every student to follow Jesus.
  • Connect regularly with the campus pastor and Family Ministry Director to stay aligned with the church vision, mission, strategies and campus plan that have been created.
  • Management of all related resources

The Basics:

  • In agreement and alignment with HOTC doctrine statement
  • Member of HOTC
  • Expert at leading self and others
  • Contact work is a must
  • Team: building, engagement, recruiting and sending
  • Proficient with multiple online/software tools for management, communication, planning, and goal setting

 Pay & Benefits:

  • Engaging work environment
  • Part-time employee (10-25 hours per week)
  • Hourly rate range: $17-27 per hour, hours dependent on work, scope, responsibilities, and direction of campus pastor and Family Ministries Direction. (Experience and Competency determine hourly rate, set by FMD and campus pastor)

Campus Specifics: 

BUILD AN EFFECTIVE MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL TEAM
  • Recruit, equip, train, and empower leaders to invest in middle and high school students
  • Continually encourage, motivate, and care for leaders.

PRODUCE EXCELLENT MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS AND EVENTS
  • Create and lead an environment and experience that holds our church values specifically designed for Middle & High School students to participate weekly.
  • Connect and follow up with New students and families.
  • Plan and execute parent engagement and equipment classes and events with the Family Ministries Director

SUPPORT YOUTH TEAM FOR MIDWEEK YOUTH PROGRAMMING
Intentionally create an environment and experience that is focused on creating moments  that help engage and equip every student to follow Jesus.

Midweek and beyond:
  • Lead collaboratively with student teams.
  • Responsible for creating, coordinating, and leading any games or activities in the program and events that drive intentional student participation, interaction, and personal growth.
